Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter Package

Motorola Ghost Dual SIM Pack The Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter is one of the most popular products not only for Motorola phones but also for all brands and models of mobile phones. The pack allows using two SIM cards in almost any mobile phone available today providing the convenience of not being tied to one single network or one single mobile number all the time. It allows to toggle between two SIMs just by switching your phone Off and On and you do nt even need to open your phone to do this. If you wand to keep your work call and your personal calls separate, if you have network coverage problems, if you are going abroad and worried about the cost of roaming as well as in many other cases having two SIM cards and a Motorola Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter could be the best solution. No more fumbling switching two simcards or carrying two phones!
Some are worried though, because to make it all work you need to trim dow the size of both of your SIM cards. Do not worry! This procedure is quick and simple and besides it can be easily reversed with two "resume" cards supplied in the package.

So what is in the pack?
The Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter pack contains not only the adapter itself!

Motorola Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter package content:
• Motorola Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter
• one self-adhesive stripe
• two template stickers needed to cut your SIM card into size
• two resume cards and two adhesive platforms to hold sims firmly back in place to be able to use your SIM cards separately again if needed
• one Manual / Instrustions leaflet

A set of instructions coming within the package is however rather basic and after having a large number of questions coming from our customers we desided to publish our own instructions on both, how to adjust your SIM cards, fit the adapter and use it.

Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter Instructions and Manual

Motorola Ghost Dual SIM Adapter So, how do you fit the Universal Ghost Dual SIM adapter?
In short it is a very simple thing to do that should take no more than 10 minutes. But first, a bit of theory. If you take a closer look at your SIM card you will see that most of it is just plain plastic needed to hold it in place and only a small area (less than a quater of the whole) is occupied by the chip itself. By getting rid of unnesessary plastic we can make SIM card much smaller and actually fit two SIM cards in a space of one and this is the basic logic behing a ghost dual sim device allowing to have two SIMs instead of one without altering the construction of the phone itself.
This is how you do it. Prepare a pair of sharp scissors and a fine file (one fron a manicure set would do) or a fine sandpaper. Place transparent template stickers on your SIM cards. Remember, stickers should be very well aligned, otherwise there is a risk if cutting into the chip itself. Get your scissors, take a deep breath and carefully cut all plastic out following dashed lines on the template. Try not to cut into the line - you can further trim your cards with a file later. Important! You should NOT cut into the metal part of the SIM because this is where your chip actually is! You may damage the chip if you do so! When you are done you will have your SIMs looking somewhat like ones on the left picture. Put away your scissors, you will not need them any more. Peel off the remains of template stickers and throw them in the bin. Motorola Ghost Dual SIM Adapter - Ready
Now, take your adapter, slide the metal door open and try to put both of your SIMs in it. If they are still too large trim their edges to size with a file or sandpaper until they fit. When they fit it all should look like the picture you see on the right. Try to slide the metal plate back into its place. You may find that SIM cards are not thin enough and prevent the metal door from sliding easily. In this case you may thin your cards at the perimeter with a file but only from the back, plastic covered side and NOT from the side where metal contacts are. If the door slides in easily you do not deed to do this. In any case try not to overdo this step. When you managed to slide the metal door shut check how firm it holds your SIM cards inside the adapter. Sometimes, and especially if you had overdone the previous step, your trimmed SIM cards may be a bit loose inside there. If it is so stick a self-adhesive strip to the back of the metal lid and being squeezed between the phone and the battery it will hold you SIMs firmly providing pressure needed for good contact. This may also be needed for Nokia 6210, Samsung T108, Ericsson T28 and some other phones with a similar type of SIM card holder.
You might be surprised, but this is it - you just created a Motorola Universal Ghost Dual SIM device yourself. Now take your Motorola mobile phone and put in your DUAL SIM as if it was just a normal SIM. Another good thing is that it will work not only with your Motorola mobile but almost with any other mobile phone! Motorola Ghost Dual SIM Pack - Complete with cover
So, how does it all work?
Well, in short, by switching your phone on and off. Some theory again - you may have noticed a tiny little chip at the top end of the Dual SIM adapter. This chip acts like a switch - it remembers to which of the two SIM cards it had been connected before you switched the phone off and next time you switch it on it connects to another SIM. In NOKIA phones though you do not even need to switch the phone off, you can simply type #3370# then OK and mobile will boot up again by itself.

In case if you need to use one or both of your trimmed SIMs without a Dual SIM adapter, just put a SIM into a Resume card, stick a self-adhesive pad to the back and off you go as if nothing happened.

NOTE : We can not be held responsible if you make a mistake and damage your SIM card. However, if you do damge it most of the network providers will be more than happy to replace it at no additional cost if you inform them telling that you have lost / accidentally damaged your sim card or something to that effect.
If, however, you do not feel confident trimming your existing SIM card, you may consider buying a cheap Pay-and-Go / Pay as You Go card from eBay (usually about £ 3-5 on a good day) and experiment with it first.
